29 Feb – Regeneration: What Can Antarctica and Doughnuts Teach Us About Economics?

February 29 @ 6:00 am - 8:00 pm

iceberg

Growth! Growth! Growth! The dominant economic mantra seems to have us lodged in an endless cycle of exploitation of natural and human resources which creates wealth that benefits a few and does little (if anything) to regenerate people and planet.

The result? Poverty, exhaustion, mental illness, community breakdown, sociological inequality, environmental degradation, climate collapse. Enough.

What can we learn about regeneration from natural ecosystems? How can we apply that to how we work, how we share, and how we create prosperity for all?

In this session, we’ll talk with members who are experts in regenerative agriculture, new working and wealth models like UBI and the 4 day week, and economic models that have us living in a way that gives and much as it takes from life on earth.

As ever, we’ll get interactive and noodle with the concepts so you can contribute your own ‘yes and’ ideas and think about how the concepts inspire creative approaches (or not) to your life & work.

This event is part of Together Culture’s Resolution for Regeneration Festival.
